I am a freelance writer, editor and trainer focused on computing<\/a>, government<\/a>, climate<\/a> and data journalism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

My clients include Socitm<\/a>, a membership organisation for local public sector professionals, where I edit In Our View<\/a> magazine.\u00a0I have written for Computer Weekly<\/a> since 2014, including recently on how journalists (such as at the Financial Times), illustrators and composers are making smart use of generative artificial intelligence<\/a>. I have also written for The Register<\/a> since 2013, including recently news coverage on government IT.<\/p>\n

I am an associate lecturer at Oxford Brookes University<\/a>, provide training through Bauer Academy<\/a> and the NUJ<\/a> and am the chief examiner for data journalism for the NCTJ<\/a>.<\/p>\n
